STOMPer Heather was irked by the sight of these foreign mioTV promoters watching a sitcom while on duty at Suntec City.
The STOMPer wrote:
"I was passing by the mioTV booth set up at Suntec City on the evening of Jan 26 when I noticed that their product promoters, who seem to be of Filipino descent, were deeply engrossed in watching the TV programme showing on the display TV screen.
"On closer look, it turned out that they were watching the GMA channel, a Pinoy TV channel available on mioTV.
"This is not the first time that I have witnessed Filipino mioTV promoters at Suntec City making use of the convenience of their company's resources to indulge in their own personal leisure pleasures.
"I have observed in my numerous travels past the area that such incidents only happen when a majority of the staff on duty are foreign.
"By exploiting the resources of their employer for their own personal satisfaction at the expense of their designated work responsibilities, I feel that they are displaying a blatant lack of work professionalism.
"This certainly does not reflect well on SingTel and its efforts to promote mioTV. How can sales be achieved when the promoters are busy watching television at work? I definitely hope that SingTel will make a conscientious effort to remind its mioTV sales staff of the importance of proper behaviour in public."

So if locals were to be paid higher than their foreign colleaugues, locals will definitely take up the jobs.
Moreover, many foreigners are not that productive. Therefore, bosses are paying more when a job need more time to be completed.
Sad to say, many bosses don't know what happen on the floor, they only know that every month they save on salaries.
If LKY says less babies means more FT. Down the road, more excuses from bosses that Singaporean don't want to do certain jobs.
Bosses take advantages of foreigners, lower pay with longer working hours. Foreigners don't like long hours too but have to accept it.
singaporean sales assistants are always playing on their iphones instead of doing their job.
what's the difference?
There’s a LOT of reasons why company hire foreigners... not to mention their credibility at work, on how they perform and how passionate they are without any COMPLAINT...
Judging others is foolish since you don't know all the facts, can't create a reliable or objective scale, have no means of knowing whether your criteria match anyone else’s, and can't have more than a limited and extremely partial view of the other person. Who cares about your opinion anyway?
