Stall increases price of fishball noodle by $1 to take advantage of CNY holidays

STOMPer Lauretta feels it is not right for this stall at Simpang Bedok to increase the price of its fishball noodle by $1 to take advantage of the Chinese New Year holidays.

Said the STOMPer:

"This fishball noodle stall at Simpang Bedok has found a way to start the Dragon year - by jumpstarting it's sales by 28.5%!

"So called rival to the Famous 'Jalan Tuakong The Art of Mee Pok' noodle stall, this owner cleverly chose to begin operations on the 3rd day of the CNY as it's BIGGEST rival continues to remain unopened and monopolises the usual crowd of mee-lovers by increasing $1 for the already sky-high $3.50/bowl (pathetically small)!

"What's worse, they do not tell you this or indicate clearly their intent by just sticking a piece of masking tape over the 'small bowl - $3.50' written on the acrylic board of their stall.

"So when you order a bowl of noodles, the default would be $4.50 for a pathetic small bowl of fishball noodle at an open-air coffeeshop in Bedok!

"I went to ask the lady at the drink stall next door and she exclaimed -- 'Whoa, tai-lang (chop people) ah?'

"I am SO not going back to this stall that's out to take advantage of such a festive and happy occasion!"

Actually i think it's against regulations for store owners to charge higher than usual prices without any form of notification. But aiyah festive season, live and let live and have a prosperous peaceful cny. huat ah!

It unethical but during LNY choices are far and few.
Once demand exceed supply this is what will happen.
