STOMPer Lin feels the Wi-Fi network at Changi Airport can be improved as it is not user friendly and weak. The STOMPer cites examples of the better Wi-Fi networks at other airports like Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.
Said the STOMPer:
"Our Changi Airport might be one of the best airports in the world, but I think that the Wi-Fi network at Changi Airport really cannot make it as compared with other competitive international airports elsewhere.
"I am not sure about the rest, but I seriously feel that the airport Wi-Fi network is so user-UNfriendly, troublesome, weak and lousy.
"In order to connect to the Wi-Fi network, I have to walk around and look for the customer service counter to get a piece of paper with the username and password.
"After that, it took me a while to connect my iPhone or laptop to the Wi-Fi network. After connection, I realised that the connection is so weak and lousy that I can't even make a Skype or Viber call.
"I can't even watch any video on YouTube due to the poor connection. Worst of all, the Wi-Fi connection keeps disconnecting. In the end, I gave up and switched it back to my own reliable 3G network.
"How about those foreign visitors who don't have local 3G connection on their mobile phones?
"It was really a very disappointing experience for me and I have heard from some foreign friends who had the same bad Wi-Fi experience at Changi Airport.
"I have been to HK airport, Dubai airport, KL airport, etc and these airports' Wi-Fi network is so easy to use and the Wi-Fi speed is still okay that I can make a Skype voice call.
"I really hope that Changi Airport can do something about it soon. I seriously wonder when was the last time our Changi Airport did the check on the user-friendliness level and reliability of the Wi-Fi connection in most areas of Changi Airport."

when I got there, I also couldn't believe it's down to 1 tiny piece of crappy paper. If Changi dropped in rating, I believe ...
