STOMPer ihot tried to access the SingTel iPhone 4S pre-order website but kept getting error messages. Apparently, the online traffic was too much for the site to handle, said the STOMPer.
Wrote ihot (Oct 26):
"The iPhone 4S is so hot that the SingTel site to pre-order the phone is down the whole day.
"Seriously if SingTel is not able to meet the demands than don't publish this on its site for people to pre-order the phone.
"The site's link seems to be down and there is no way to access it at all.
"Is it because of the overwhelming demand that SingTel has shut off the link?
"If so why still post on their site for users to pre-order?
"Poor service indeed for Singapore's top telecoms company."
According to a report on AsiaOne, all appointments to buy the iPhone 4S were filled within 1.5 hours after SingTel's iPhone 4S registration website was launched at 10am today.
Around 2pm, SingTel launched another link, for customers to pre-order the phone via its online shop. This was also plagued by high traffic volume, as experienced by the STOMPer.
