When STOMPer Lucas went back to a noodle stall to take chilli sauce for his noodles, the stall staff member told him to show her the bowl of food before he could take some.
STOMPer Lucas shares his encounter (Aug 27):
"On 27 Aug 2011, I went to Centrepoint's Kopitiam food court and bought a bowl of ban mian for my lunch.
"After a mouthful of the noodles, I went back to the stall to get some chilli sauce.
"This particular China national stall staff member stopped me from from taking chilli sauce from them.
"This is how the conversation went: (M)-Me, (C)-China Stall Lady.
"(C): Hey! you can't take my chilli sauce.
"(M): But I just bought food from your stall and I am just coming back to get some chilli sauce.
"(C): Are you sure?!, you go back and show me your food first.
"I was speechless, and went back to take the bowl of noodles and showed it to her.
"She took a long time to scrutinise my bowl of noodles and said this to me: Mmm..ok. This our ban mian.
"After saying that she did not even ask to take the chilli sauce for me and instead glared at me, without saying a word or even an apology.
"She even told me in a sarcastic tone to go ahead and take her photos but not to take her face.
"I was like an beggar scooping the chilli sauce, after which I walked back to my seat.
"Does anyone have the same experience as I did?
"I sincerely hope that the management of Kopitiam can do something about the attitude of the stall staff."
