Luggage damaged on flight but Tiger Airways staff can't help

STOMPer Jerlene's luggage bag was apparently damaged on a Tiger Airways flight, but an employee reportedly told the STOMPer that they can't do anything because the STOMPer did not buy travel insurance.

Jerlene wrote:

"They damaged my luggage and I reported it to the service counter.

"Nobody wanted to entertain us.

"I went to another counter and the lady there told us that she couldn't do anything because I did not buy travel insurance.

"This means I can't claim anything from them.

"She printed out an email and told me to write in. I have not got any reply from them.

"There was also a damaged seat on the flight and I was scolded for not putting my seat upright.

"After this experience, I would rather pay more to take a good plane."

It is simple. As not all of us know, those who worked at budget terminal handling airlines are ONLY the handling agent AND NOT directly from the airlines itself.

So, if you think in future you wanna travel by BUDGET AIRLINES or any OTHER airlines, Pls BUY TRAVEL INSURANCES to avoid misunderstanding.

:)

So annoying... pay for budget fare yet complain so much

Was it really damaged? I can't see anything wrong with your precious luggage. It can still hold all your clothes right? Would you have asked me to compensate if you had placed your precious luggage in my car and it somehow got damaged? Oh pleaseeeeeee -.-

Is your luggage damaged to the extent of unusable??? If not, quit complaining!! What's wrong with people nowadays??? Don't appreciate the service at all... Expects to be treated like royalty...

Whatever airline you take in this world will not be responsible for any damages to your lugguage/ properities in the lugguage at all. It is just unfortunate that your lugguage is dented.

What damage..? A scratch? No airlines in the whole wide world will handle yr luggage with tender loving care like a mother to her infant. I REPEAT..NO AIRLINES. Thousands of bags are handled on a daily basis and it's common logic that accidents happen. I travel budget all the time and I've seen celebrities, befriended loaded businessmen and we all agreed on one thing - controlled risks. Buy insurance. I've claimed enough $$$ on delayed/cancelled flights and damaged/lost bags. =)
Guideline to everyone; Bags found damaged on wheels, handles and zippers, don't waste yr time. (Scratches included)

Don't wait for answer, just go and ask the management yourself. If no compensation just sue them, but it's just a luggage and I doubt you would spend money that are more than what the luggage is worth. Next time don't take budget, buy a better luggage and no more problems such as this. But I got to admit, budget airlines are seriously pathetic to the core, but I guess that's what you get if you pay less. It's either paying less for two times or pay more for one time, the world is fair and just.

Correct, nothing you can do, I guess.
Travel insurance will help.

Ya, the bag does not seem to be good quality type anyway.
