'Medium rare' steak looks raw, but chef refuses to put it back on grill

STOMPer beef boi went to a shop in Ang Mo Kio to enjoy his steak, but when he ordered it medium rare, what was served seemed more like raw, he said.

beef boi wrote (June 10):

"Raw or medium rare?

"I went to a shop named Happy Chef to eat.

"Ordered a medium rare sirloin steak...and I got this.

"So I wonder is this 'raw' or 'rare'?

"I requested that the chef cook it a little more and she said that this is what I ordered.

"I doubt the chef cut the meat to check before serving me.

"The outlet is along Ang Mo Kio Street 54."

This looks like the standard Medium Rare. If you want something less bloody, get Medium or Well Done.

In the states, their standards for steaks are higher than ours. Medium Rare could be entirely pink on the inside.

Please refer to Wikipedia on steaks if you really are that clueless about the true-blue Medium Rare.

if you dun dare to eat medium rare then dun. dun hao lian call medium rare . This is medium rare, i eat before medium rare more raw than u. when u cut blood comes out.. u sibei noob la

stomper, you've always eaten at coffee shop that's why. they don't know what is medium rare!

just because you've been eating wrongly cooked steak your whole life! doesn't mean the chef who cooked it correctly deserves this abuse from you!

Come on ! This is too rare , considering the fact that he rested the steak for a least a few minute before cutting it open (Resting a meat increase its done-ness ) , , medium rare steak should be seared outside with around 50-60% red center and a thin layer of pink surrounding the red ,this red chuck of meat is definitely underdone , its somewhere between rare or blue rare , it's edible but not advisable unless it is waygu of good grade .
