Fiona Parker's first trip to Singapore was a fabulous one, thanks to the cleanliness of our country, and the excellent service by SMRT staff.

She recounts the positive experience:

"My husband and I recently dropped by Singapore to catch up with an old friend.

"She showed us around Singapore as it was our first time in this little country.

"There were few things that caught my eye - firstly, the cleanliness is top notch compared to other countries we have travelled to.

"Secondly, there were some nice train stations, in particular, the SMRT train which runs from Marymount to Stadium station, where we alighted.

"I can still remember that Sunday morning (14 Nov), my hubby and I decided to take a train after our early morning jog.

"We boarded at Marymount some time close to 6am when the station was just open.

"The staff greeted us with a big smile.

"When my husband asked for directions, he was very helpful.

"He even gave us a map of Singapore and explained to us the difference between a one-way ticket and a tourist pass.

"With his help, we had a very clear understanding of Singapore's train system.

"We came back in the evening but didn't see the same staff person.

"We were too excited earlier and forgot to thank him for the warmth and assistance he politely rendered.

"Kudos to everyone who has made our trip to Singapore a fabulous one."
