It takes 28 minutes for Changi Airport authorities to respond to unattended luggage report

STOMPer Wendy immediately reported a threat to airport staff when she spotted unattended luggage in busy T3 at Changi Airport. To her dismay, nothing was done about the unclaimed baggage until almost half an hour later.

Thousands of people could have been placed in danger because staff took such a long time to respond to the potential security threat.

It is surprising that this could happen with the global emphasis on airport security today, she says.

Wendy says:

"In the face of airport security threats experienced worldwide these days, one would expect Changi Airport to take security issues seriously.

"This afternoon, at Terminal three in Changi, I noticed two luggage bags left unattended against the pillar in front of the elevators near row four.

"We reported them to a member of staff stationed between rows three and four at 3:20pm.

"We did not see any action taken after 15 minutes and so we went up to the customer service counter to report the matter again, showing them the photos I took.

"Finally at 3:38pm, a female airport police staff member went up to the luggage. However, she simply stood nearby against the glass railing.

"In the mean time, tens of people continued using the lifts less than 10 steps away and people were walking right by the suspicious luggage.

"Finally, only at 3:48pm did three security guards appear to check on the luggage.

"Why did CAAS (Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore) take 28 minutes to respond?

"Why were people allowed to be within steps of a potential threat?".

Until something happens then they will wake up... All the adverts, announcements are just for show only... Their bosses thought their people are diligent but actually they cant be bloody bothered... No URGENCY..All busy with bluetooth earpiece, engaging in their own personal conversations...
Nx time you at Changi A, observe it yourself...At the aerobridge, holding gates...everywhere... yakking on their phones...
So? if something really happens, then they'll view all the CCTV la and see their officers in "ACTION"...
Otherwise , you wait...No respond, no action...
Just like the gangs issue, gotta wait till someone actually dies...
Welcome to new SG...
Btw, we got Kudos cos we carry Ang Mo balls...

Stompers, try to give it a thought.. its not the police fault.. they were informed late n they cant be there all the time.. n shame on Stomper Wendy for not informing/called the police straight.. its the same things u have to do when u see an unattended stuff in the train right..? so dont blame the CAG and other airport agency fully.. u have to blamed it on yourself also.. and "female airport police staff" please be specific because i understand airport have a few of external n private agency..
IzaacBiaggi & slayer369 - don't be a fickle-minded saying APD are slackers.. slayer369 last time n now are different.. this issue is not their fault.. its Stomper fault for not taking the initiative to informed straight.. instead she push the responsibility of informing to others.. so think before u post alright..

The message is clear. If you see any suspicious article in MRT trains or airports, please report to the relevant authority within 30 minutes.
