STOMPer Jack is stranded at the airport together with other passengers as there is no plane for his scheduled flight. According to him, the ground staff is unaware of the situation.
The frustrated STOMPer wrote:
"My flight TR2102, was delayed from 6.30am to 9.55am. Now they are telling me there is no plane.
"Tiger did not give us (passengers) any reason and during boarding time, the ground staff also do not know what is happening.
"Some passengers said they're here because last night's flight was cancelled - again for no reason given.
"Many people say Tiger is short of pilots and that's why this is happening. We are so disappointed with their brand image now.
"In Australia, the general feeling is that Tiger treats customers poorly since they are budget airlines.
"Jetstar and Air Asia are more reliable."
In a response to a RazorTV inquiry, Tiger Airways explains that the flight delay was not due to a shortage of pilots, but the fact that one of their planes had to be brought back to France for extended checks and maintenance.
A Tiger Airways spokesperson said:
"We recently had two aircraft with technical issues that were grounded for extended checks & maintenance over the past few weeks. One of them had to be brought back to Toulouse (France).
"As a result, we had to reschedule or cancel flights in a way that minimizes overall disruption.
"As soon as possible, and using our best efforts, we notify affected passengers through SMS, email, phone. We regret the inconvenience caused to affected passengers and have offered various alternative options in accordance with our disruption policy, such as refunds and alternative flights.
"Tiger Airways does not compromise on safety and is taking the necessary measures to rectify the aircraft issue. We will be receiving a new aircraft next week.
"As for rumours about a pilot strike, there is no strike! We currently have over 110 pilots for a fleet of 10 aircraft (or 11 if you include 1 new aircraft to be delivered next week) and we are continuing to attract more for growth."

With all the funny board me first , flight change fare and most of the time high fares simply does not justify their service to pay for all this. The $$ can be well spend on non budget airline at times their fare are even more realistic than Tiger wild imagination
Is it cheating if they are still accecpting people's payment for services with the full knowledge that they cannot provide the services? Afterall, once you accecpt payment, it's a contract.
I understand if things happen last minute, like weather, breakdowns etc, but when they know they don't have the pilot numbers, and still take payment from you.... is this called cheating?
