Following two complaints about the owner of this stall at Chomp Chomp yesterday, a third STOMPer, NiceButArrogant, claims to also have experienced the hawker's 'attitude problem' firsthand.

In the earlier article, STOMPer Fiona and fifteen of her ex-classmates claimed the hawker had hurled vulgarities and threatened them with a beer bottle for being noisy. In a separate incident, Eckhard Justus and his friends were also caught up in a staring incident with the man.

NiceButArrogant describes the hawker's behaviour:

"I want to add to the story entitled 'Chomp Chomp hawker hurls abuse and threaten noisy students with beer bottle'.

"The hawker cooks nice carrot cake, but he is very arrogant.

"I have heard from a drink stall owner there selling sugar cane juice that the stall holder isn't a nice person, but his food is good.

"So I gave it a try. I ordered one black and one white carrot cake with chilli. I told him politely that for the white one I would like to have $4 and the black one $3 as I was ordering for other people.

"He just replied 'umm' and went off to fry it.

"His has a bit of an attitude problem. Also, when he collected money from me he told me the total was $8. I just paid him anyway.

"What an arrogant hawker he is."

First of all, the stomper was aware that this stall owner has a bad attitude he/she also learned from other stall owner. Secondly, does he/she has the choice whether or not to buy food from him? No? So why complain if choosing to dig own grave?

I was there last nite. Staff were friendly and the carrot cake was yummy. Tried their fried oyster omelette and it was awesome. I must thank Fiona and her team for introducing to me this "crouching tiger hidden dragon" hawker stall.

I think in your case, his attitude is fine. All the busy hawkers have no time to greet customers, it's not like they have all the time in the world to give you high quality service.
All you to do is to re-confirm your order before paying for the food.

To NICEBUTARROGANT:

I reckon you must be one of the sixteen hooligans asscociated with Fiona. From your write-up, I do not sense any form of arrogance displayed by the hawker.

As for the change part, maybe he made a mistake. Did u clarify with him?
