A $3,000 gold chain belonging to STOMPer Pete's mother was sold off before its expiry date by Cash Box pawnshop at Jurong Point.
The pawnshop's staff had not bothered to inform the STOMPer's mum of the sale and were even rude to her when she confronted them about it.
The frustrated STOMPer says:
"When my mother went to redeem her $3,000 gold chain, she was in for a rude shock.
"The staff told her that the chain had been sold off by the auction house as she had not come to redeem it.
"However the date of expiry in the receipt was stated as 20 June.
"How can a pawnshop just sell off someone's jewellery before the expiry date and without informing them?
"When my mum questioned the staff about this, they were rude to her and refused to entertain her.
"My mother is so upset as it was her hard-earned money and she pawned the jewellery to tide her over when times were hard.
"Is Cash Box trying to rip off poor people? I am going to lodge a police complaint against them.
"This is a warning to customers who are using their services. Your jewellery might not be in safe hands after all."

mega enraged. sue until their box no more cash.
Anyway, i felt he shd made a police report but dont think they handle this kind of matter. i thk they will ask you to go CASE or get a lawyer to sue the pawnshop.
CASE to me is like toothless tiger and we need to pay them still for their service. i felt CASE shd be removed and police just take over. They suppose to "Serve and Protect". i wonder tourist will be asked to go CASE. if not, why local need to receive this unfair treatment.
