No sign enforcing 'no sitting' rule here so why can't I sit?
STOMPer NooBie was recently chased away by a guard from sitting on the stairs of Palais Renaissance along Orchard Road. He wants to know why this alleged rule is not enforced by a notice.
Said the STOMPer:
"I was at Orchard Towers waiting for a colleague for lunch when I got tired of standing.
"So I sat at the stairs of Palais Renaissance. Before I sat, I looked around for any notices stating that sitting was not allowed.
"There weren't any, so I sat.
"Around 5 mins later, I was told by a young security guard that sitting there was not allowed.
"If sitting is not allowed in any part of the building, why is there no notice to inform the public?"

The stairways are for walking, not for sitting. Do you need signs wherever you are to show you everything?

This is understood. Stairway is a footpath, why must u sit there and block the passageway. Even if got sign still people will be ignorance. Like no smoking, no riding, no cycling, no feeding of birds etc....
