Absurd that SBS still allows non-aircon buses on roads. It's like travelling in an oven

STOMPer Marco Polo thinks it is ridiculous of SBS to still keep non-aircon buses in service as Singapore's hot climate makes travelling on such buses unbearable.

Said the STOMPer:

"These pictures were taken on board SBS Transit's bus service no. 246 that runs from Boon Lay Temp Interchange to Chin Bee Dr and back to the Interchange.

"I boarded the bus at Corporation Rd and by the time I got to the Boon Lay Temp. Interchange I was drenched to the skin.

"As the bus was non-aircon it was like travelling in a mobile oven to my destination.

"The windows were opened and in our tropical climate the heat was unbearable.

"As most public buses in Singapore are air-conditioned, it is incredible that SBS Transit still sticks to such obsolete buses to ply our roads.

"I hope it will phase out such anachronistic buses as soon as possible in modern day Singapore.

"If it was some third world countries I could well understand why such buses should be kept."

Why u board that bus??it's cheaper for non aircon what..dun like the non aircon bus then wait for the aircon bus to come.don't complaint,suck thumb if u dun like.

I prefer to take non aircon bus. When someone sneeze germs spread faster to other passengers in an aircon bus. But too bad aircon buses are more then non aircon buses i guess..

Those buses only serve the factories in that area; maybe SBS doesn't care about because it's only foreign workers....
