A STOMPer cancelled a cab booking, but was shocked to receive a rude SMS from the taxi driver himself.

The STOMPer said: "I cancelled a cab booking and the cab driver sent me rude SMSes."

The cab driver apparently accused the STOMPer of being selfish for cancelling the booking because he got another cab.

However, the STOMPer said he had called the taxi driver to ask him where he was because he could not see the cab, but the cabby did not pick up the call. The STOMPer said he had cancelled the booking not because he got another cab, but because he thought the booking made through his iPhone indicated the wrong waiting place.

When the STOMPer replied to cabby, saying that his company would not approve of the rude text messages, the cabby replied that he was self-employed and that his rental had got nothing to do with his text messages.

The STOMPer added: "What happened to the service in our public transport industry? This cabby drives a Mercedes Benz Cab SHA 518Z. Beware!"

Taxi drivers are told that cancellation of call booking is part n parcel of their job.Passenger just cancel their booking to their convenient.Taxi drivers cannot cancel without any good reason...So try not cancel once u booked unless very necessary.Cancellation is so eary, preparing for the call booking is not so easy....

As a consumer, there will always be a certain level of expectation in the service that we receive. There is no wrong in a consumer cancelling his/her order if they find a better alternative. The reason why we book a cab is that we can't get a cab thats why we book one an we pay a booking fee. But when we see a free cab in the meantime, there is no fault of the consumer now passenger to cancel the booking.

As a service provider, it is an offence to contact a client using personal means or with personal motives because it only means that as a customer, there is a breach of trust that my no is misused by a company or its employee.

Lets be objective and not judge on perspective.

justfreds, if everybody thinks like you then trust me no cab will ever pick up on call again. try to understand how those cab driver feel.

As far as i know.mercedes taxi drivers r very kind n helpful.bcoz i always book taxi. There are cases where i waited for so long the longest is 20 mins from the promised time and i needed to catch a flight, one oh the case apparently bcoz the driver was new n unfamiliar, he apologized n we chit chat along the way, i was then found out that he juz started being a driver for few days bcoz he couldnt get other job after being sacked during the crisis time. He even give me discount as an apology but i juz paid full fare n gv some extra.

do you know how difficult it is for a taxi driver to make a living nowadays? Most people dont know or dont even care. Do pity them. They have to drive for hours before earning enough money for rental and fuel. Then they'd have to drive for more no of hours again to earn some money!
It's SUPER TIRING. Time wasted on waiting = More time needed to work to earn $.

The cabbie probably lost a customer while texting (either while driving or parking/waiting illegally at dbl yellow line.. And I hope he gets a fine for that).
