According to STOMPer Nikiforos, his jackets were damaged after sending them to the dry cleaners. What annoyed him more was when the staff denied responsibility.
In an email to STOMP today (Jan 13), the STOMPer says:
“It turns out that these people are not taking any responsibility, and they are constantly downgrading Singapore's customer service levels by behaving like this.
“My wife and I are expats from Europe living in Singapore for the past 2 years and we have been delighted by the rising customer service taking place in the last few years.
“However, FabricPro is going in the exact opposite direction.
“We gave 2 jackets to be cleaned in the aforementioned store, and when they were returned, they were destroyed.
“My wife's jacket was missing a button that is not like a normal one but steel one with a special design.
“These people have destroyed it and they placed it in one pocket WITHOUT informing us of the damage in order to avoid any responsibility. The jacket was given twice for cleaning and the stains were not removed.
“My jacket had special instructions not to be dry cleaned. These people dry cleaned my jacket and they destroyed it inside out.
“I am wondering:
- Are these people trained to collect and clean clothes?
- Does anybody read the instruction on the clothes?
- Are they using cheap cleaning products to reduce cost?
- Why there isn't any website or email so somebody can complain in writing?
- Why they are not informing the customers for damages they are causing and try to cover up?
- Are they putting so many reliability exclusions just because they know they are incapable?
- How is the consumer protected against such cases?
- Why the management is not recognising its fault and make that extra mile towards higher customer service levels?
- Why are they recommending dry cleaning? Maybe because it's more expensive than laundry?
“I have managed to find the GM of the aforementioned company through another person and his reply via this person was that he disputes these claims and that these damages were caused by us and certainly not by him.
“It is really sad, disappointing and unacceptable to ignore a customer's complaint and moreover to accuse him of being the one to destroy his clothes.”

and my jacket label said "dry clean only", ironical, so i handwashed my jacket myself and it turned out as good as new.
surprisingly for this stomper's case his jackets didn't get rejected
Mostly China & Malaysian Chinese workers for this industry, not many English educated one, might not understand the English Labels on the clothes. Even the bosses, are mostly olden days Chinese Tow-Kays type.
Some more expensive laundry company fine prints on the back of the invoice will indicate they cover certain % for damages / loss. But some don't cover damage / loss at all.
At least we still can give comments unlike you, only commenting on people's comments but shut your mouth.
I think you must be an Expat too, speaking up for the same breed..
