Got service or not?
Sentosa staff unclear whether promotion is on or off

Imagine purchasing 4 tickets to the Underwater World at $22.90 each and then later discovering that Sentosa is having a 'Stars of Sentosa' promotion ticket which offers Underwater World, Dolphin Lagoon and Butterfly Park at the same price!

This was what STOMPer James Ang experienced when he visited Sentosa on 6 Jan. In an email to us today (7 Jan), the STOMPer says:

"How can there be such a discrepency in pricing?

"A check with the Butterfly Park ticketing staff revealed that she did not know if the Underwater World still carried the 'Stars of Sentosa' promotion, and asked us to travel back to the Underwater World to find out.

"Why are details of promotions not shared across Sentosa?

"I have called the Underwater World staff and enquired about the 'Stars of Sentosa' promotion. She replied that the promotion had ended on 3 Jan. Then why was Butterfly Park still having the promotion now?

"The staff said she would check with the Butterfly Park and get back to me. No one did.

"It would appear that Sentosa is only interested in providing world-class admission fees instead of world-class service."

On top of that, the STOMPer also found out that the relocation of the Dolphin Lagoon was not updated in the Chinese version of the Sentosa map.

Come to think of Sentosa as a very big company office with plenty of different "departments" which spreads all over the land of ... Sentosa, they mayb even sub-rent off some "office-space".... unless the different "departments' managers" are efficent and organize enough to inform their open-space "receptionists" of all the necessary updated informations, I'm afraid that my child-hood playground mayb no more a few years down the road.... SO PLEASE, those working on Sentosa, BUCK UP!!!! At the end, it'll be the end of plenty of jobs related to Sentosa....

I have long given up on Sentosa's attractions, expensive and not worth it.

Haha, this is used to be the common problem in Singapore's place of interests that eventually lead to close down. We just cannot make it in making the visitors simile. Well, some have changed, but some have not.

Internal communication screw-up. Anyways, that island is quite boring and nothing much to see.
