Got service or not?
Singtel staff screws up wires, makes my house look like factory

When STOMPer DicksonNJS signed up for Singtel broadband, he expected professional service. To his dismay, the staff left unsightly wires all over the house, making it look more like a factory.

The wires dangle and coil in many different corners of the house messily as Singtel did not even provide a casing for them.

STOMPer DicksonNJS says in an email dated December 14:

"My dad and I signed up for Singtel broadband two to three weeks ago.

"We were informed that the day of installation was five working days from the sign up but I received an email after a week saying that installation would only take place on December 8.

"I received them at home and this friendly foreigner helped me with the installation.

"After awhile, two other staff came to install Mio TV. They were very fierce and rude.

"They went off after installing Mio TV.

"The friendly foreign worker then proceeded to connect the wires and ask if I wanted a chip on the wall.

"I felt it would be neater and because he did not give me any other option except for buying a wireless thumbdrive for the modem, I agreed to it.

"He helped connect the 20-inch wire and I felt that it was awful and made my house look like a factory.

"I thought Singtel would provide some cover casing to cover the wires but they did not so the wires were left hanging.

"The attached pictures are what Singtel has done and my dad is not happy about it."

If you want trunking, you could inform Singtel in advance and pay the price for the trunking you cheapo. Since you already have internet on power line, why do you need to run such a long cable? Why did not you tell the contractor how you want him to run the cable? Of course if you exceed the cable length you have to top up. Stop complaining for your failure to plan, failure give instruction and being cheap.

even if you buy other electrical appliances like TV, washing machine or fridge, all the wires also can be seen what. You think places like courts & harvey norman all these wil do casing work for you? Singtel very nice to give you long wires and clips already. Then what u expect them to do? Might as well u tell singtel to do renovation work for your house, ask them hide the wires behind the walls better, like that wont even see casing. Small little thing like that no need to complain one la.

yea, i had a similar experience with singtel as well. They came, they screwed up and they didn't care. When i called singtel to complain about their outsourced vendor, they just...yawn...acknowledged and hang up.

So instead of just complaining, i switched to maxonline and starhub mobile. Come to think of it, if it wasn't their competitor, i think we'd still be paying exorbitantly for their "services".

I think it's not Singtel or the Contractor's fault. This is want will happen if you do not go wireless. Wires will surely be everwhere.
