Got service or not?
"Service staff at Myanmar Embassy shouts 'Sort it out!' and shoves my documents aside"

STOMPer Minty Green came across this rude service staff at the Embassy of Myanmar. He had repeatedly raised his tone of voice and refused to assist the STOMPer in his Visa application.

Recounts this STOMPer:

"I went down to the Embassy of Myanmar for the first time to apply for Visa. Little did I know, I was in for the shock of my life.

"After queuing up, I handed the service staff the passports and stapled documents, but this guy immediately replied sternly 'SORT IT OUT!' and shoved my documents aside.

"Then he grumpily said they were incomplete, so I explained that these documets brought were based on
the embassy's website.

"At this point, he stood up immediately and said loudly in my face 'DON'T REFER TO THE WEBSITE. LISTEN TO ME!'

"I was taken-aback as I have tried calling the embassy three times before, and all calls were transferred to him.

"He never mentioned anything and was more keen on hanging up than assisting.

"So if you can’t get information online or via the phone, do you go down and get TOLD OFF by this man?

"And for some strange reason, he is randomly known as Ng, Tan or Lam, isn’t that dubious?

People, please mind your comments. Do not condemn the whole country because of a group of power hungry people.

Well, it is not only that foreigners are treated that way. The Myanmar citizens are treated even worse. They even have to pay 10% their income as tax even though there double taxation agreement between Myanmar and Singapore government. They get scolded to pay their hard earned money ok. If I am not wrong the one who handle the visa is a Singaporean hired by embassy.

Anyway, we should learn the lesson that not everywhere you can complain and expect a good service. We should appreciate that government service are good.

Even if you complain here the embassy do not care. And Singapore government cannot intervene.

can u guys plz mind ur comments?
don't just blame on the whole country bcoz of this small little thing happened.
in fact,i don't think embassy staffs are supposed to so nice to people.

i agreed with the stomper that this embassy's staff are rude!
but ,the point is why all of u guys are saying like "it's a shit of country",and some of them even said "can't tolerate with myanmar's people behaviours".
why just blame on all the people from myanmar just bcoz of few people who behave badly.

if u comment , make sure that u don't insult other people for nothing.

A case of a member of the diplomatic service not being diplomatic is his/her service? Anyway, foreign embassies have the power to reject your Visa application for any reason (like they don't like your face) or for no reason at all without giving you any reason. You can also threaten him: "You better watch out... because Santa Claus is coming to town!"
