My worst bus ride: Stuffy, smells of exhaust fumes and wiper breaks down in heavy rain
STOMPer Jasmine says most of the buses for SMRT Bus Service 852 are poorly maintained, and the situation became most unbearable yesterday (December 13).
She said:
"Well, in general, most of the SMRT Bus Service 852 I have taken are quite old and the air con systems are not working well resulting in them being very stuffy during the journey, especially if it is during a hot afternoon.
"Today was the worst!
"The bus 852 (TIB840A) I boarded had a very strong smell of exhaust fumes, and it was also quite stuffy.
"Worse still, the wiper malfunctioned when it started to rain heavily during the middle of the bus journey, until the driver had to call HQ.
"Whatever happened to bus maintenance and the ever increasing bus fares?"

be glad if u r staying in Yishun and still have 852... check ptc website, it was supposed to be cutback to Yio Chu Kang but not approved by the Authorities.

Heard that SMRT will be phasing out all the ELBO Scanias as well as the Nissan UDs. The new Merc OC500LEs replacing the fleet.

Anyway service 852's fleet has been improved recently due to the Nissan UDs being laid up. Mainly the CAC Merc 0405s are being deployed now, as well as the Lances.

They are just sitting inside their office and waiting for you to complain and then BINGO!!, raise fares for better buses or service.

SHUCKS!!!! pls dun complain anymore... make do with the current world class transport... dun give them another reason to increase the fares....

keep on complain, so that they have a reason to increase the bus fare because public demend a better bus. I don't care, I don't take buses.
