Guests feel stuffy and hot as aircon's not working, but restaurant has no backup plan
STOMPer Mr_Justin2012 was surprised that an event he attended on Aug 11 at a restaurant in Jurong had no contingency plan when the air-conditioning stopped functioning, leaving guests feeling stuffy and hot throughout.
The STOMPer said:
"I attended an event at Joy Garden Restaurant at Jurong Safra.
"Throughout the whole event, the aircon was not working at all.
"After enquiring with the manager, we found out that the aircon in the ballroom had broken down.
"Throughout the whole event, we were left feeling stuffy and hot.
"What surprised me was the lack of a contingency plan and instead, the manager only came round to assure us that they were fixing it every time we enquired about the aircon."

It's kind of different for an airline, up in the air I doubt they have an engineer to work on the aircon system, and the space to hold fans as well as powerpoints etc? IMO the restaurant should have at least not charge them full price and given some freebies like free dessert or vouchers to compensate them.

Do you have contingency plan if your home air-cond is broken down? I don't think you will have a back-up unit, right? Ya, it will be ideal if they have a back up unit, change over when the one is faulty, but i doubt this kind of business will do that

contingency plan? ask the guests to head out? Bring in fans? the air-con's are getting fixed. blame it on bad luck.

I would really like to hear from Stomper what kind of contingency plan he has in mind. Fans? Doubt in will help much as it's just re-circulating carbon dioxide.
