Case of Coke not yet expired, but drink leaks from cans through small hole on cap

STOMPer Harry purchased a case of Coca-Cola a few weeks ago from a supermarket but found that not only were four of the cans half-empty, but they were leaking. The drinks had not yet reached their expiry date.

Said Harry:

"Coke cans getting inferior.

"Bought a case of Coca-Cola a few weeks ago from NTUC.

"Was disappointed to find out that 4 out of last 7 cans were half-empty, and they are actually leaking from a small hole on the cap.

"The expiry date is still valid."

I have a similar experience, which I decided to flag with them & am awaiting their full response - I bought 2 cases of coke (light) a few weeks back, with no signs of damage to either carton. When I retrieved them from storage to restock my fridge, I was horrified to find that no less than 6 cans (3 in each carton, i.e. a 25% failure rate!) were almost empty (and still leaking from a small pinhole on the lid). The contents made a complete mess of my cupboard, where I also keep some expensive wine.
After some prodding, Coke have now graciously offered to replace & remove the offending faulty cans (for lab testing). I'd arranged a visit for this afternoon, but they annoyingly called 30 mins prior to cancel.
I hope the attitude (of the local franchisee) is not along the same lines as some of the dismissive responses I've seen on the forums - Has word got back to US head office yet? What would Warren Buffett, have to say? Stay tuned!

nothing new. bought similar and local made cola drinks. the PET bottles once opened could no preserve the 'gas" within for next few days. seems a packaging error.
