STOMPer Lim says his mother's 80th birthday celebration was marred by rude staff at this restaurant, who rushed them through their dinner. They also shut off their karaoke machine early and dropped food and utensils on them in their hurry to clear the table.
The STOMPer wrote:
"I decided to write in as I want to let others know what sort of service you get eating over there.
"On May 27, we decided to book a private room at Yunnan View restaurant to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday.
"We arrived at 7.30pm and a supervisor told us that there was a KTV system that we could use to sing while we were having dinner.
"But we found the KTV system was not working and we were told to just listen to songs instead of singing. After a while, someone came in to fix it, and it worked ok after that.
"My nieces selected some Korean songs but the waitress turned the machine off while it was playing halfway, thinking we did not want to sing Korean songs. This happened again a second time.
"They seemed to be in a hurry to chase us home, and the dishes were served pretty fast. Empty plates were taken away the moment we set our chopsticks down.
"While clearing the plates one of the waitresses spilled food onto my second sister's blouse, and within a few seconds, a spoon was dropped onto my eldest sister as well.
"By 8.30pm, the bill had already placed at the side table.
"I asked the waitress what time they closed and she replied 10.30pm. I asked her to bring us the bill at 10pm and she walked off with unhappy face.
"I then asked to see the manager. Another supervisor came over and told us her manager was not in. I explained the situation to her, that her staff were behaving like they were chasing us off.
"Other waitresses kept walking outside our room and looking in, giving us the feeling that they waiting for us to get out.
"Finally we walked out of the restaurant before 9.30pm."
