Did you feel a twinge of familarity while looking at the Singapore People's Party logo? Well, that is because the star looks like the one in the Caltex logo, says STOMPer VK.
Said VK in his email (Apr 28):
"With the election round the corner with many parties contesting, various analyses and reports are in the media.
"The former Potong Pasir MP (Minister of Parliament) Chiam See Tong is heading the Singapore People's Party (SPP).
"Upon close observation of their party's logo, it looks too familiar.
"It looks like the Caltex logo and SDA's (Singapore Democratic Alliance) combined into one.
"If one were to overlay the Caltex logo over the SPP, the star fits exactly onto the SPP logo.
"Perhaps the artist who designed the logo was inspired by the Caltex logo.
"It is quite interesting."
Formed in 2001, the SDA was an alliance of four political parties, one of which was the SPP. The alliance was headed by Chiam See Tong until February 28, 2011. Now, the alliance consists of the Singapore Justice Party (SJP) and the Singapore Malay National Organisation (PKMS).
The SPP will be contesting in Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC, Hong Kah North SMC, and Potong Pasir SMC; while the SDA will be contesting in Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC and Punggol East SMC.
