Ferrari 3-Death Crash
Will this unknown CCTV camera reveal new clues to the horrific Ferrari crash?

STOMPer Keymaker spotted what appears to be a camera mounted on a traffic light overlooking the junction of Rochor Road and Victoria Street. He wonders if it could yield clues for investigations into the many accidents that have taken place there -- most notably the one involving Chinese national businessman Ma Chi on May 12.

The junction of Rochor Road and Victoria Street is a known 'black spot', a location which sees abnormally high numbers of accidents and collisions. On May 12, three people lost their lives in a crash involving a Ferrari.

Just yesterday, another accident involving the driver of a Lexus also occurred here.

The STOMPer wrote:

"Is that a surveillance camera installed on top of the traffic light at Victoria/Rochor traffic junction?

"Last week while I was crossing the Victoria Street/Rochor Road traffic junction, the site of the Ferrari and Lexus crashes, I noticed that there is a surveillance camera mounted on top of the traffic light.

"I'm not sure if the camera was installed before or after the Ferrari crash accident, so I decided to do a check on Google Maps.

"Lo and behold, the same camera that I saw was on the same traffic light in Google Maps.

"That means that the camera was installed before the Ferrari crash accident, and might have captured more footage of the incident.

"The camera was at the perfect vantage point to capture all the events happening at the junction.

"The question now is why there has been no mention of this camera in accident reports?

"Which authority owns the camera?

"Are the police even aware of the existence of this camera?

"Perhaps, the relevant authority can come forward to clarify this."

Pics 1-5 show the camera, while the others show the Ferrari crash on May 12.

Don't expect too much from the camera around the junction.
I once met an accident along Paya Lebar Road junction sims ave. There R about 3 cameras fix to the traffic lights and there r many more cameras outside the MRT which I believe some of the cameras were pointing to the placed I met my accident.
But when I asked the traffic police, he just told me to write to the relevant department n retrieve the footage myself and if theres any evidence I could just forward to him! and he even mention that the camera not recording etc....

That is a J-Eye or Junction Camera. What is the function of this gadget to monitor traffic flow only or motorist who flout the law by illegal u-turn. In the event of accident, they even request for witness.
