One of two men accused by iThunderX of cutting this cab queue and offering to pay a cabby extra to take them has come forward to explain what happened from their perspective.
In his original contribution, iThunderX had said that he saw both men jumping the taxi queue at Funan Centre, trying to tempt a cabby into taking them by offering to pay more for their ride. They had apparently done this in plain sight of people waiting for cabs there.
In response to iThunderX, one of the men pictured, nicknamed GetUrFactsRight, wrote:
"Along with my friend, I am one of the people in the photographs taken by STOMPer iThunderX and I'd like to clarify what happened:
"1. My friend and I joined the queue for the taxis at the stand outside Funan Centre, at 230 PM on Friday Mar 3, 2012.
"2. We walked outside of the taxi stand to board the cab as it was our turn.
"3. The cab that had driven in had some issues as the passenger on board was trying to make an electronic payment which could not go through. The next cab that came was available but the driver was headed to Aljunied (we were going to Bishan) so after speaking with him, he could not take us. This resulted in some delay and we had to wait for another cab.
"4. We then boarded the next cab.
"At no point did we cut the taxi queue or agree to pay more for the ride. None of the waiting passengers at the taxistand were irritated in any way, and there were only 5 people at the taxi stand so there was no "massive queue" either.
"STOMPer iThunderX says it's a disgrace to Singapore to have people like us. I think it's a disgrace when people don't get their facts right and jump to conclusions."
In the original article iThunderX had commented:
"These two men were cutting the taxi queue, promising to pay more for their taxi ride.
"I was alighting from a cab at Funan Center when I was greeted by two men asking a taxi driver to take them and offering to pay more for then ride.
"I saw that there was a massive queue and that the people waiting there were furious at their act.
"They really are a disgrace to Singapore as I'm sure we are better than that."

My friend and I were waiting for a cab IN QUEUE. We moved outside of the taxi stand because we were next to board the cab. Since you were snapping this shot from quite a distance, I'm assuming you couldn't hear our conversation with the driver, so I wonder how you magically found out that we were bribing the driver to take us.
You have absolutely zero proof that we did anything that you're alleging here and let me remind you that you can be SUED for libel for casting completely false aspersions on our character. So don't try to be a smart-ass and invent a story where there's none.
