Have larger 'No Smoking' signs, more police patrols to catch errant smokers at Bugis

STOMPer ReignOfComputer suggests putting up larger 'No Smoking' signs, as well increasing police patrols, to deter the numerous smokers he observed at Bugis Street.

The STOMPer shared:

"I have observed a bountiful number of smokers lingering on Bugis Street during evening/night hours, despite that this is in clear infringement of the 'No Smoking' policies set in the vicinity.

"Steps should be taken eradicate this problem, particularly as there are several prominent food outlets nearby.

"A contributing factor to this issue may be that some authority figures are unaware of the rules on inhaling tobacco, or overlook when they are violated.

"No matter the circumstances, this should not be happening.

"There is even an NDP Banner covering one of the ‘No Smoking’ signs.

"To rectify the problem, I suggest the putting up of larger and more prominent 'No Smoking' signs in the most common areas, directly within a person's line of view and thus making it unavoidable.

"The frequency of police patrols should be increased as well, and action should be taken against these smokers."

@grieverz1992: When I say trolls I refer to those who are unable to hold a reasonable and intellectual argument, and post for the sake of attacking others to perhaps feel better about their sorry self. Like you.

Pro-tip: It's not perspective. It's law.

I've contacted NEA already. I should soon have concrete evidence to show it is illegal to smoke in that vicinity. I'm male, by the way, not female. I'm also a Christian, not believing in your ridiculous curse as my God will protect me. See how I can bring religion in to this too?

Your cursing post has been reported, expect to see it deleted soon.

@curashag: I have to pass that location several times a week. Do I really have to cross the road and make a detour around them just to avoid the smoke? As for the health of others, I am referring to that of my family and young children, especially with food outlets such as Noodle House, KFC, and Burger King and classes such as Aspen and Replugged Music nearby.

If there wasn't any 'No Smoking' signs in the area, I would not be wasting my previous time here trying to put a stop to these smokers who are apparently in the wrong. If you do not believe me, please take a little walk down that lane and count the number of signs there, including the one in the 7-11 window.

As for your last comment, the cigarette manufacturers are not at fault. It's their customers that can't be bothered to follow the law. Glad to talk to someone somewhat civilized though, unlike most of the other STOMPers here who think their IQ is above 9000 and that all of the internetz belong to them.

I'm not a smoker too but if you want to protect your health then try to avoid smoking areas just walk away like we do, dont think about others health they are old enough to take care themselves, your not a hero. If you want them to stop smoking better start with the cigarette companies.
