Caught in the Act
Student who posted 'O' level paper online questioned by Exams Board

The student, who proclaimed it was attention he sought after tweeting a photo of his GCE ‘O’ Level scripts online, has been questioned by the Singapore Examinations and Assessments Board (SEAB).

Xavier Ong, a private candidate in this year's 'O' Level examinations, had earlier become embroiled in an online war of words when a photo he took of his exam scripts sparked outrage among some netizens.

The student then posted a video in response, asking for netizens to expose him and saying that it was attention he was after.

His response sparked debate among curious STOMPers earlier this month

Xavier is posting a follow up video today and in it, he says that he was called up by SEAB for a interview.

He expresses unhappiness with the way he was questioned and claims that he does not care about the outcome, even if he gets a zero mark for the examination.

This is because he will soon be taking the SAT Reasoning Test and trying for admission into a college in the United States soon.

He also points out that the "mole" on his face which many netizens have been referring to is actually a labret piercing.

Here are some excerpts from Xavier’s video:

"Before I start on anything, let me make it clear that this is not a mole (and) it is not a chocolate chip for Christmas.

"It is a freaking piercing, called the labret piercing. Go search on Google if you are stupid enough to not know, okay?

"I've seen the video on RazorTV and I feel really unhappy about it.

"One point I said to The New Paper, and I'm kind of puzzled why it wasn't published, is that the attention that I said I want was more or less to (spite) the guy on Formspring, (who wanted) me to close down my Twitter account, which I think is very stupid, right?

"So now I've got the attention. I've got stares and people looking at me when I'm out.

"While I agree that this whole incident has been blown out of proportion, you don't have to force me to re-take the paper. What nonsense is that? I'm going abroad next year to continue my studies.

"(At) the interview with SEAB today, I told them the whole incident and described every detail that I can remember and clearly recall.

"But they were trying to push it and saying: 'Try and think. Why can you remember what happened on this day and cannot remember what is on that day.’

"Well, let's think okay? If you go to work on Monday and Friday, and something special happens on Monday and Friday, do you remember every single detail

"Do you remember what happens on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday just like every other day? No, right?

"I see no point in lying or covering up because I believe they have probably, more or less, come up with a verdict like what they're going to do with this or how they're going to punish me.

"So, I'm just waiting for you all to say what you're going to do.

"I doubt I will re-take the paper, I really doubt so, even if they give me zero for it.

"I'm going to apply to sit the SATs soon and I'm going to use it to apply for a school in the States.

"No more British education please, and no Aussie or New Zealand because they are too near to Singapore.

"The further the better, you know what I mean? Since you want to get out, you get far away, no point getting (somewhere) so near”.

Get out of Singapore asap. Skarly he cannot go US too, and have to beg to resit Cambridge exams again.

That shows how labret piercing can look like a mole on a fool. I don't think States accept weird-looking guy right? It's not a rubbish chute over there, fyi ^^

Singapore version of Michael Fay. Must be some rich man son. No worries, with that attitude he'll never get far in life.

Really hoping he would fail in life one day and get killed in a horrible accident.

Didn't he claimed to have Tourette Syndrome? Strangely it wasn't apparent in his videos, must be faking it to get extra time for his papers... which he's going to score 0 for. poor thing, went thru all the trouble end up get 0.
