Xavier Ong, the student who snapped a picture of his GCE 'O' Level Exam scripts and shared them online via Twitter, says he's not afraid to reveal his identity to the public - in fact, he says he wants all the attention.
In an earlier article, STOMPer Frank said he had came across a Twitter post by Xavier with a photo of his 'O' Level Social Studies exam papers. In the tweet, Xavier had written, 'Do you dare bring phone into examination hall and take a picture?', challenging other students to follow his example.
Xavier says in this new video that he does not see anything wrong with his actions, as the picture he took only showed the cover page of the script. According to him, the teachers present did not stop him either.
Xavier says he hopes to gain "fame, money and love" from the whole incident. He also says he will ignore all further requests to delete the pictures, and will only speak to the authorities, as he does not want to 'waste time' talking to anyone else.
Here is an excerpt of what Xavier says in the video:
"I take my exams in a private room, two students to one invigilator. What happened is we are allowed to use our phones, I have been using it since day one. But I didn't take any pictures until Monday.
"I went in for the paper early and the scripts were already on the table, so I just took a snapshot and posted them on Twitter.
"Maybe the words I used were like 'Do you dare bring your phone in and then take a picture of the scripts?'
"There's really nothing much to hide, at this point of time. I don't see a point in me deleting the pictures anymore because as many of you have said you've taken screenshots, you want to bring me down, then by all means go ahead.
"You just need to know that this isn't affecting me a single shit, because we all know that my priority is love. Yeah that's just me, you know as long as my love is fine, I don't give a damn about any other things."
He goes on to say that Singaporeans 'have nothing else better to do' with their time than pick on things like this incident. He also says that he welcomes the attention that this incident will bring him, and hopes he will gain more followers on Twitter as a result.
