The Singaporean players fought like girls, said STOMPer footballfan, after watching the video of the fight that broke out between the Young Lions and Beijing Guoan at an S-League match last evening. Two of the Young Lions were taken to the hospital as a result of the brawl.

The match between the two teams turned sour when a fight broke out in the 89th minutes as players took on each other, wrestling-style.

The New Paper photographer who was there said 'at one time a Young Lions player was surrounded by six Beijing Guoan players.' He also adds that he saw one player bringing down another, using a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) style, known as 'clothesline'.

Two Young Lions were taken to Raffles Hospital as a result of the brawl.

Said the STOMPer:

"Like any football match, there will be a few tackles here and there. Some players will play dirty and some won't. But ultimately, it's the referee's call. He decides who gets the yellow card and who gets sent-off.

"Just because a player is not happy with the referee's decision doesn't give players the right to turn a football match into a wrestling match.

"The outcome: two players sent to the hospital. If this is part of stint to make the local league more exciting, I doubt anyone would buy it.

"After watching the video, I'm quite embarrassed to say that the Singapore players fought like little girls -- a lot of pulling and tugging.

"The other players in green were vicious and fought like a pack of wolves.

"The video shows many of the Young Lions players floored during the conflict."

After watching the video, STOMPer Robyn also adds:

"Watch the Beijing Guoan player kick the Young Lions boy in the back of the head at 2:34 in the video.

"This is an outrage. He, if not the whole team, should be banned from football."

Already so few people at the match, almost all the seats are empty. Who would want to watch football matches of the Young Lions if this were to be what they are remembered for? What happened to sportsmanship and a proper football match?

unofficial, I reckon you're naive. Though I'm a local, I'd like to add in..China people paid $75 million for 4 units in a condo project...china people bought a bungalow for $36 million..I reckon most locals don't even have that kind of money

Unofficial and metalhead666 - bickering about Chinese just because some boys from China kicked the local boys' asses?? Get a life you low life *****!

From what I saw, the Young Lions provoked/started it by downing a Beijing player first - and the Chinese boys weren't gonna sit around and think about racist comments to put on Stomp later - they stood up as a team and obliterated the punks who started it. Don't say it was right - but in all honesty - if you want to start a fire, be ready to get burnt as well.

wth is STOMPer footballfan talking ""After watching the video, I'm quite embarrassed to say that the Singapore players fought like little girls -- a lot of pulling and tugging.

"The other players in green were vicious and fought like a pack of wolves.

"The video shows many of the Young Lions players floored during the conflict."

Now the point is not whether they fought like wolves or dogs and whether Sg players fight like little girls. The point is both sides shouldnt even start the fight. Now there are injuries, and thats the last thing everyone wants to see it. Dont bite on the wrong thing and thought it would be cool of you to be fighting like wolves~ dragons~ if so, try staying in the States, let's see if you can survive or cry in the end.
