STOMPer Mani has witnessed this scene many times: bus drivers opening doors to let passengers alight, without stopping inside the bus stop bay. The STOMPer is worried by this dangerous trend.

In the STOMPer's report:

"Bus 170 not stopping in the bus stop bay.

"I have seen this many times. Most do not stop at the bus stop, and they let people alight outside the bus stop.

"What happens if the people alighting are run over by oncoming cars?

"This happened opposite Kranji MRT."

There's nothing the bus company can do about the traffic situation there.

For those that've no idea, the left lane is occupied by a queue of M'sian lorry/ trailers forming up waiting to clear CIQ clearance. The jam can stretch all the way to Kranji War Memorial at times.

If all rules&regulation(R&R),cannot be flexible and its rigid, our life will be very difficult. We know sometimes, under certain situation, during emergency,we cannot talk R&R anymore, else pple will say we talk cock!!Lets be practical, not be a bunch of book-worm.

OMG this reminded me of KL in the 80s when I first went there. The jams were so bad that the bus driver had to let the passenger alight at the center lane. But looking at the pictures, there were nothing obstructing the bus driver from driving into the bus bay. Even if the queue before was long, the bus driver should have just waited his turn and not compromise on the safety of his passengers.

This boils down to disciple. Don't point the fingers at where the driver comes from, it doesn't matter actually and it's all the mistake of the road transport authority. Hit them hard and the next time they will remember !!

DOnt you know its very tiresome & time wasting for the driver to purposely drive into the bay, sometimes behind the queue of several buses, even when the stop is just 3-5m away? Stop microscoping everything & comment something constructive! no wonder or tpt fares are going up! Yet still complain what takes public tpt time so long.
