Investigations concluded that no act of animal cruelty occurred in the case of an woman who was seen repeatedly caning a dog in a Woodlands flat, says AVA.
This was in response to a STOMPer's sighting of a female resident at Woodlands Block 683D, caning a dog repeatedly as it shrieked in pain.
In an email to STOMP(Sept 1), a spokesperson for the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) said:
"The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) has done a thorough investigation into this case and is satisfied that there was no act of animal cruelty committed.
"The dog is in good condition and well looked after.
"We have counselled the dog owners accordingly and will continue to closely monitor the well-being of the dog."
