STOMPer Hani wondered the employer of this maid told her, to get her to start digging up the rubbish chute of this block.
In email to STOMP, the STOMPer wrote:
“I saw this maid was scavenging the rubbish chute on my way home.
“What if somebody had thrown a bottle down? What was she looking for?
“Did she do it for herself or her ‘ma'am’ ask her to do it?”

she must have been so scared of committing a mistake that she would do this. Most obviously she threw something down by mistake or worse, she kanna saboed and now have to endure this ill treatment. Whatever it is, sad lah singapore.

It happened before. There was this maid in my neighbourhood block, her employer before leaving for work, dropped her off at the market to do an errand. While preparing lunch, she accidentally throw the loose change with the garbage down the chute which was under the sink(older estates still hving such indoor rubbish chutes). Uponing realising the mistake, she ran down and try to retrieve what she had threw down earlier. That was why Town Council should enforce the doors at the chute to be locked all times.
