Caught in the Act
Shocking defamation of ACS by NJC students in official school activity

In pictures circulated on the internet yesterday (Sep 25), several National Junior College (NJC) students were tagged in photographs which depicted them defaming Anglo-Chinese School (Independent).

The students were doing an ice-breaker activity in which they were demonstrating how ‘dictatorial regimes should work’.

STOMPer Baptiste wrote:

“These photos were circulated on Facebook and they were purportedly taken by their teacher who subsequently posted it.

“Some ACS(Independent) students and teachers were tagged in the photos, which goes to show that the person who uploaded it is obviously trying to spite ACS(Independent) students.

“What made it worse (other than defaming the school) is that they wrote 'Kill the principal' in one of the mahjong papers - this is clearly a sign of threat that has gone out of hand.

In an another email to STOMP, another STOMPer wrote:

“In what has been claimed to be an icebreaker activity demonstrating how ‘dictatorial regimes should work’, National Junior College students have used ACS (Independent) as a example.

“What was so peculiar/'unique' in this case are the various suggestions or actions that they have depicted in their presentation.

“These measures include calling ACS (I) ("Annoying Childish Students (Idiots)", as well as a plethora of other vividly disturbing elucidations on ‘kidnapping the principal’, ‘poisoning the water supply’ and the coup de gras, ‘killing the principal of ACS (I)’, as pictured.

“These suggestions, while merely written on paper, evoke a certain pervading sense of discomfort- how could the students of such a prestigious school have such outrageous thoughts and even suggesting and putting to paper such preposterous ideas?

“Additionally, one might note that the suggestions on the presentations also include other activities which are not involved with a dictatorial regime, instead, ‘destroying’ the ‘vault with money’, ‘CyberAC’, ‘Uniformed Groups’, and extorting money from the rich kids; just some stereotypes that ACS (I) has been associated with.

“I felt that the pictures (and the extent of the defamation elaborated in them) were extremely shocking, not to mention reflected badly on National Junior College, its students and teachers.”

i believe that the guy who wants to share this on Stomp is not immature, in fact I side with him. This shows that Singaporean students are actually getting out of hand, and tho this is a generalisation, but its true. other examples can be found on Stomp, and this is to bring awareness to MOE or other governments that now schools are not trying to compete, but instead to win, they try to degrade other schools. What is the MOE gonna do with this????

firstly, as a HCI student and having friends in NJC, this is an entire disgrace to students from NJC and this only shows how NJC students and teachers are immature and irresponsible. Are the students stupid enough such that they do not know that they should not circulate such photos on social networking sites or the internet? this does u no better than the two ACJC girls who had sex in their school compound. and the teachers are too irresponsible to teach them that they should not do such stupid things on the internet? I d not see how my NJC friends will improve from this school...

I believe that one should not judge the entire school based on the immaturely disgraceful acts of a few.

I myself am I student of NJC, and I believe that this activity is probably a harmless one done to amuse the students. Nevertheless, it should NOT have been posted on Facebook to spite the ACS (I) students and teachers. The teacher who did so was horribly immature (you call yourself a teacher? take a good look at yourself dude)to do such a thing.

But to the person who bothered to post this, why generate hate and vengeance amongst Singaporeans? Why not just laugh it off? Spite NJ back if you wish, but what good will it do you? Are you stooping as low as they are to bother posting this on STOMP?

Isn't it ironic for a mere 14-year-old like me to be here calling you all immature? Shouldn't you people set a better example for the youths of our nation?

Some educators you all are.

Whoo~ sounds like NJC's jealous. and even if you insult the school, do NOT insult their principal. he is freaking well respected fyi, and NJC just wants to damage their reputation. NJC? MYFOOT.

To any NJC students out there, ACS (I) address is 121 Dover Road, and they definitely welcome you to step into their beloved institution any time, and repeat the insults you mentioned on your mahjong paper. In front of their faces.

Seriously, you NJC twats are acting like my younger cousins who attend kindergarten 2 this year. STOMP should not censor your faces in the photos, let your identities exposed. In fact, as this was a well condoned school 'ice-breaker event', I think your principal should step forward and address the matter.

Disgraceful mongrels.
