STOMPer Benson is extremely annoyed with his neighbour who keeps disturbing everybody by singing karaoke so loudly every day.
In an email to STOMP today (Jan 25), the STOMPer says:
“I’m a resident of Jalan Bukit Merah.
“I have a very inconsiderate neighbour from Blk 107 #04-1800 who is always on the karaoke system singing very loudly and disturbing people.
“In fact they on it every day from 9am till 9pm. It’s very crazy right?
“I tried many ways to stop this problem but non of them worked.
“I tried calling the HDB, and the person asked them to lower down the volume.
“They told me that singing karaoke in the day is not wrong. However, they have switched on the volume so loud that people from level one can also hear them very clearly.
“I also tired calling the police but they said that they will never send anyone down because noise pollution is not their concern, and so they asked me to call HDB.
“If you come on Sunday, you will surely hear them singing loudly and disturbing people.”

everyone is entitled to make music, listen to the radio or making some other noises... so long it is reasonable and not disturbing other people...
other option is to buy a drumset and drum each day for a couple of hours.... sure you will drive them totally nuts!
Seriously, I think it's very difficult if you 硬碰硬 with them. They'll just get more defensive and continue doing so to perhaps spite you further. Try speaking to them nicely, that maybe...just MAYBE, they can try installing a soundproofing system in their home so they can sing all they want without disturbing their neighbours? Just my 2 cents' worth. I'm sure there are old people, or even babies in your block who need to rest in the day.
